👋 Readers, this is 33 straight weeks of Weekly Notes!
Wishing I were coming to you from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, this week. I have only been once, and it was -14° (still beautiful)…Here I go again with my desire to turn this into a travel blog…back to the notes!
Headlines this week are, oddly enough, coming from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Heavy hitters are gathering for back-to-back symposiums on Blockchain and Economic Policy. Most will be looking for signals from legislators, regulators, and, of course, the Fed Chair. Also, POTUS had an important meeting in Alaska and in Washington, DC, moving forward a stalemate in the Russia/Ukraine War.
Below, you’ll find directly sourced links to information that I’ve been consuming since last week and using to get smarter on issues of interest.
I hope these weekly notes are useful, and I appreciate any feedback you have.
Interesting issues and news across the US economic and national security landscape.
Analysis:
The national security efforts of the past week focused on peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, with historic visits by Russian President Putin in Alaska and Ukrainian President Zelensky, along with European leaders in Washington, DC. Diplomatic activity mainly came from the White House, and a significant number of actions were taken by the Treasury’s OFAC, again targeting Cartels/DTOs/TCOs and a crypto exchange involved in illegal activities and bad actors.
Here are five (5) links sourced directly from the White House and the US Department of the Treasury.

Interesting issues and news across finance, technology, risk, regulation, and financial crime.
Analysis:
If you’re into finance, crypto, and innovation, then there is plenty to watch, read, and analyze. Fed watch (speeches, signals, and future policymakers), more public market entrants from the digital assets space, FinTech prediction market offerings, and ebbs and flows of a deregulatory slash new regulatory environment.
Yep, this analysis is meant to be vague and confusing because you pretty much just need to watch, read, and try to analyze how things shake out across tech, finance, risk, and regulation.
Here are ten (10) links sourced directly from regulators, legislators, the US Department of Justice, the Treasury, media, and financial technology companies.
